Bedmi poori

Breakfast doesn't get any better than eating Bedmi Poori with aloo ki sabzi  in Chandni Chowk. Bedmi Poori with aloo ki sabzi  is loved by almost every Indian. Spicy and tangy Aloo ki sabzi goes well with these hot streaming  pooris. While shopping from Chandni Chowk, somehow i saw this place in Chandni Chowk and tried scrumptious bedmi poori with aloo.



The poori is made of a special dough which is made by mixing the combination of urad daal and coarse wheat flour. It is fried in a huge kadhai in pure ghee. These bedmi pooris are very crispy and crunchy in almost every bite. Pure ghee is used in the preparation of these pooris. Also,a green chutney made of pudina is served along with bedmi poori. 




This place was established in 1958 and it remains crowded on almost everyday especially during the breakfast time. If you love spicy food ,don't forget to visit this place in  the lanes of Chandni Chowk.Apart from Bedmi pooris,this place has a lot to offer!

Kachori

If you are a true delhitte ,it is obvious that you love spicy food like hell. I'm a huge spicy food lover ,so one day I decided to try this famous spot in Chandni Chowk and it was worth a visit. I tried Garam Garam Kachori with Aloo ki sabzi  from this hidden place in Chandni Chowk and it was too tasty that I cannot event tell you!
This place is a heaven for all the kachori lovers.Garam Garam kachoris are stuffed with a mixture of moong dal or urad dal and it contains a lot of spices. It is pared with spicy aloo ki sabzi and they also add kachalu chutney ,that all makes a differecne.What's better than a weekend breakfast on a sunny or even winter day at this place? A heaven for sure!
This place was established in the year 1971 and is a very popular in the lanes of Old Delhi. It has continued to maintain the taste of kachoris and it serves mouth watering kachoris to great number of people everyday at affordable price. Next time you visit chandni chowk ,do not forget to try these delicious kachoris.

CHOLE KULCHE

Chole Kulche in Delhi is the most popular street food.While walking through the streets of Chandni Chowk , i wanted to eat something spicy and crispy. So,i decided to try delicious Chole Kulche in Paranthe Vali Gali in Chandni Chowk. 


A hub for all the foodies like me , Chandni Chowk offers one of the best street food all over Delhi. Through the  crowded and busy lanes of Chandni Chowk where people come and go ,the street food places remains constant. Spicy Chole paired with soft kulche are literally made for each other.The vendor takes out the chole from a copper vessel  , spice it up according to the needs of the people ,tops it up with onions and other veggies and then serve it with a soft kulcha!

The vendor stand there regularly and he is very polite and friendly by nature. The soulful food made by him by adding the secret ingredients  surely takes away heart of all the foodies. He makes such delectable Chole kulche that too at such affording price that you can't miss trying this out! Make sure next time you visit chandni chowk ,do try them!

MINI SAMOSAS

The mini version of regular samosas-' Mini Samosas' . Samosas have taken a place in the heart of almost every Indian. What's better than tangy , crispy and delicious mini samosas served with hot beverages?
Through the small lanes of  Janpath ,there is one stop that make some interesting and delicious Mini Samosas. These mini samosas are really very cute and impressive and guess what? It is available at super cheap price that you can't even imagine! The bhaiyas prepare these samosas in just few minutes. Quality and quantity of these samosas are too good that you can't even complain.  These scrumptious potato stuffed samosas is usually less than half or even less than that of the regular samosa ,but the quantity of these samosas is really very huge that you can't even finish one plate.

These samosas are served with spicy chutney,sweet chutney and topped with chaat masala. One plate consists of six mini samosas and is for just Rs. 10! Got goosebumps,eh? Whenever you visit Janpath or CP next time,you really got to try these delicious samosas.

MALAI SOYA CHAAP

SOYA CHAAP is the most popular street food in Delhi and it is a delight for all the Vegetarians out there. Malai Chaap enriched in proteins , is both alluring and appetizing.  The flavor of delicious and mouth watering soya chaap can replace chicken for non vegetarians too! 

I recently tried Malai Chaap from Malviya Nagar Market and it was too delicious! The creamy,juicy and scrumptious malai chaap  is made of soya chaap little pieces roasted and then mixed in cream which makes it a delicious treat not for all the vegetarians but for non vegetarians too! The chaap is made with perfect balance of spices and is so creamy that I was not able to control! The chaap is  simpley marinated in yogurt ,cream and spices and it is served with green mint sauce and onions. The presentation is too good and it looked so tempting that i can't even tell you.

Next time you visit Malviya Nagar Market,don't forget to try Malai Soya Chaap from this place. You'll not regret,i swear!

ALOO PAKORE AUR CHAI

What's better than a hot streaming plate of Pakoras with a cup of tea  that too in the weekend?  Nothing beats the sound of fritters frying at home by mother with a cup of tea during monsoon weather. It is a pure bliss to eat something crunchy and hot during such weather. RAINS AND PAKORAS - Made for each other!

 Pakoras can be filled with various things like spinach, potato,green chilli and what not! But nothing can be compared to Aloo fillings inside a pakora.I literally have a thing for aloo pakoras ;)
 
Ingredients :

  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 cup of chickpea flour
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Oil to fry
Recipe :
  1. Peel off the skin and cut the potatoes in thin slices. 
  2. Add water in small portions into chickpea flour. Keep stirring until the lumps dissolves completely and do it for 2-3 minutes. 
  3. Now add ginger paste, green chilly paste, red chilly powder, salt and mixeverything really well. .
  4. Heat enough oil in a wok to deep fry the pokoras. When oil is sufficiently hot, take a potato slice and dip it into the chickpea flour batter. 
  5. When the pakoras starts floating on the oil that means it is cooked from beneath. 
  6. Pakoras are now fried aptly. 
You can serve these crispy aloo pakoras with red ketchup and green chilli sauce with a hot cup of tea :)

TANDOORI GRAVY MOMOS

If you are living in Delhi, it is obvious that you love momos like hell. Momos has a special corner in every Delhittes heart. Delhi is a city that offers variety of scrumptious and irresistible momos. A plate full of veg/non veg street side  momos served with red chilli chutney and mayonnaise is all that everyone craves for! 

Besides the regular steamed or fried momos, we always try to find something different. I recently went to PVR Anupam Saket to watch a movie and after the movie i was feeling too hungry.So,i decided to try something unique- TANDOORI GRAVY MOMOS.
Momos are put on tandoor for a while and then mixed with gravy made from red chilli sauce and mayonnaise. Delicious is the word for these momos! 
All the momos lover,if you are looking for something unique yet tasty you should definitely head towards this place.

RAJMA CHAWAL

 Indian's  can go anywhere and try out the new dishes but  nothing can beat  Maa ke Haath ke bane hue Rajma Chawal! Everybody loves and admires  when it comes to ghar ke bane hue Rajma Chawal as it relives the days of our childhood.
 For me, Rajma Chawal is the absolute comfort food and the ultimate combination .Rajma and Chawal are literally made for each other,they are like the World's best pair ;) Rajma can also be accompanied by hot chapatis but it surely tastes the best with steamed  rice.

Ingredients :
1)1 cup of Rajma soaked in water for 4 hours
2) 3 onions,finely chopped
3) 3 tomatoes
4)Dry spices( Turmeric, Red Chilli, Coriander Powder,Cumin Seeds)
5) Ginger Garlic Taste
6)  Salt, to taste
7) 1 tsp Garam Masala 
8) Rajma Masala 
9) 2 tsp oil 

Recipe :
  1. Drain the soaked rajma and pressure cook with water, salt and turmeric for 4-5 whistles until soft. 
  2. Heat oil in a deep pan . Once the oil is hot add  cumin seeds, cinnamon,  black cardamom in the oil. Stir for about 30 seconds. You can smell the aroma of spices as they are cooking.
  3. Add red chilli and ginger garlic paste and wait for a minute.
  4. Add onions and stir  till the onion starts to brown. This would take about 7-8 minutes.
  5. Add the tomatoes,mix  well and cook for a couple of minutes. Now add all the other spices. Stir well .
  6. By this time the steam from the pressure cooker would have escaped and you can safely open the cooker. Add the boiled rajma, along with the water it is boiled in, to the pan.
  7. Mix well and for 5-10 minutes till the gravy is of desired consistency. 
  8. Embellish with onion rings and coriander  and serve with steamed rice.

There's hardly anyone who isn't  acquainted with Delhi's street side Aloo Chaat- the most crispy and spicy potato snack.
Aloo Chaat is a very popular, spicy and mouth watering street food available at almost every corner of Delhi.
Recently tried Aloo Chaat from a street side vendor at  Malviya Nagar Market and I must say,Yum is the word.
 Aloo Chaat is made with small pieces of potatoes tossed and fried  in oil and marinated in Indian Spices and tangy chutneys .That's what makes it crispy and Chatpati! You can tell  Bhaiya to customize the Chaat according to your taste buds by adding less/more spices and chutneys.

PAV BHAJI

 Hungry and tired at the same time after shopping at the Sarojini Nagar Market for a couple of hours ,  i was craving for some delicious Street food. 
There's a food joint in Sarojini Nagar Market 'Khata Meetha Restaurant'  which serves scrumptious dishes . It is one of the oldest eating points  where the chaat corner is outside and they have a comfortable seating inside the restaurant where you can relax and enjoy your food after the long shopping hours.

I decided to give Pav Bhaji a try and  oh, it was heaven for a foodie like me! Great in quality and quantity for the price.
 Pav Bhaji , a popular Indian Street Food liked by almost everyone. It consists of thick vegetable curry cooked in special blend of spices served with soft buttered pav.  The key to most delicious Pav Bhaji is the amount of butter used. So , don't forget to tell the bhaiya to add more butter in your Bhaji ;)
