SHAWARMA

To the famous place in Delhi to try delicious Shawarma rolls. This place has always been my favorite to have Shawarma rolls in Defence Colony.This place is known for other dishes too like butter chicken, kadhai chicken but my personal favorite is Chicken Shawarma.

 The chicken is roasted first and then it is filled in the rolls. Rolls are really very  soft and thin. With loads of mayo and the green chutney, this is one of the best Shawarma plate that anyone can easily crave for.Well, their concepts are clear by the name of restaurant and food too ! One plate is enough for a person to fill stomach that too at such great price. Their shawarma rolls are quite heavy and can easily satisfy a person's craving. 

One plate of Rs.60 consists of two rolls in which fillings are too good and it's heavy. Quality and quantity is really good. It's a good option if you takeaway or get delivered the food at home. If you want to relish the Indian food,you can sit in the restaurant and order your rolls there too! This place is highly recommended if you want to try out the best shawarma rolls in Delhi.

CHICKEN MALAI TIKKA

If you are a chicken lover,it is obvious that you have a thing for this dish-' Chicken Malai Tikka' .Malai Chicken Tikka, or murgh malai is a mouthwatering juicy grilled chicken in which chicken pieces  are marinated in chilies, garlic, lemon, spices. and cream. 

Chicken Malai Tikka is something which is less spicy compared to other tikkas. Chicken Tikka is perfectly marinated in cream which makes it so scrumptious in taste. Chicken malai tikka is extremely soft and covered with lots of cream. It's is so creamy that they even melt in your mouth. I was craving for some Mughlai food recently, so I ordered some Malai Chicken Tikka from a delivery outlet near my place and it was so delectable that I can't even express. It was one of the best Malai Chicken Tikka I had in my entire life. 
One plate consisted of 7 pieces of chicken and the quality and quantity was astonishing. Succulent and mouth watering chicken tikka was served with mint chutney and onions. If you live in South Delhi, you really need to order from this place and try out their delicious chicken malai tikka. CHOLE BATHURE

There's nothing better than a satisfyi ng plate of Chole Bathure in the weekend. Delhi is known for its famous street side Chole Bathure and I bet you can find each and every place serving Chole bathure crowded on weekends because people prefer such tempting and heavy breakfast on either Saturday or Sunday.
Chole Bathure is something that almost every Delhitte loves. From street vendors to posh restaurants – everyone serves their own version of Chole Bhature in Delhi. You cannot find those delicious  Chole bathure  anywhere except in Delhi. Chole bathure are cooked in oil and spices that everyone admires. Chole bhature are served with onions, carrot pickle ,green chutney. Chole Bhature is a breakfast invented in Delhi post partition and nowadays, it is popular breakfast around India.

ALOO TIKKI

I've heard a lot about Aloo Tikki from Chandni Chowk and therefore, I decided to try these tikkis from there. Aloo tikki is a snack originating from the Indian subcontinent  ,it is made out of boiled potatoes, onions and various curry spices.

Aloo tikki is something that is always preffered hot,crispy and satisfying. Aloo ki tikki is basically served with variety of chutneys like red one which is kinda sweet ,green one which is sour in taste and yogurt too. Spicy Aloo tikki is something which I really like and from the famous place from where I have tried Aloo tikki, it was not disappointing at all. A mildly spicy deep-fried potato patty topped with curd and chutney. It sounds interesting ,no? In the hustle bustle of Chandni Chowk , people come specially to try Lip smacking tikkis from this place. The tikkis are served with mix of chutneys that makes the taste buds crave even more of it. 

One plate consists of two tikkis which is perfectly in shape of a circle and it has a daal filling in the center and it's so crispy that I can't even tell you. So, next time you visit Chandni chowk don't forget to visit this place.

KADHI CHAWAL

Kadhi chawal is a popular, rice based dish from India.The meal consists of besan (gram  flour), dahi (yogurt) and spices. As a punjabi, i'm a huge fan of homemade Kadhi Chawal . The essence and fragrance of this dish attracts me towards itself.
 Kadhi Chawal is flavored with an assortment of spices ranging from cloves and cinnamon to coriander seeds. The Pakoras are an added attraction that make the kadhi thoroughly irresistible. I usually get bored with daily routine of dal chawal, vegetables and all so,i need something change in the menu for that I love Kadhi Chawal the most.

Ingredients- 
  • 1 Cup Sour Curd
  • 1/4 Cup Besan
  • 3 Cup Water
  • 3-4 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt or as per taste
  • 2-3 Dry Red Chilies
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
Recipe-
  1. Beat the sour curd and the besan together. You can use a blender or mix them using the whipper.
  2. Heat the oil and add mustard seeds.
  3. When they start to crackle add methi seeds and the rest of the sabut masalas.
  4. Fry for about 2 minutes and when they start to brown, add chilli powder and turmeric.
  5. Add the sour curd and besan mixture and keep stirring for 5 mins.
  6. Let it simmer for about 30- 45 minutes stirring in between till it leaves a nice aroma
  7. In the mean time, get your pakoras ready.
  8. For the Pakoras:
    1. Mix all the ingredients together and deep fry in hot oil.
    2. Now add the pakoras to the kadhi simmer for about 2 mins.
    3. Garnish with corriander leaves and serve with steamy hot rice.

Because a cup of tea and a bowl of maggie is all you need when you are travelling in mountains. Mountains are something that provides peace and serenity to inner self.  Whenever, I feel like going on a vacation ,mountains is my first preference always.  The vast expanse of greenery, the endless natural beauty, and the pleasant weather makes everybody desire for a visit to mountains .

Having a  hot bowl of maggie with tea that too with a beautiful view  in mountains is something  that I can't even explain. With the cool breeze in mountains all of us prefer something hot and tempting ,  Maggie is always the best option. Maggie has always been my favorite since childhood and whenever  I visited hills when I was a kid , it was something I used to have in all my meals. As a grown up too , I prefer Maggie in hills every time. Maggie is available at most small corners of mountains and pairing it with a cup of tea/coffee is a pure bliss.

STEAMED CHICKEN MOMOS

There's always a special place for Momos in every Delhitte's heart. A plate of hot streaming Steamed Chicken Momos with Red Chutney is all you need on every freaking day! I'm a huge momo lover and I can't resist myself to eat moms even when I'm on a diet.

Traditionally, momo is prepared with ground/minced meat filling, but over the past several years, this has changed. These days, momo is prepared with virtually any combination of ground meat, vegetables, tofu,  paneer cheese etc.

There are many restaurants , cafes and what not that offer momos but the most admired momos are from street side. Because street side momos are like a heaven for every Delhitte. A hot plate of momos served with juicy,tangy red chutney and mayonnaise is found in every corner of Delhi and this is what everyone admires. MIX SAUCE BAKED PASTA

Who doesn't love Cheesy food? I was craving for some interesting and cheesy food so I decided to hog on some Delicious Mix Sauce Baked Pasta.With a rich taste of tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and sauces, this pasta is loved by all.
Pasta is a staple food of traditional Italian cuisine.
The colorful and differently shaped pasta tossed with sauces and baked in cheese. It is so cheesy that I cannot even tell you. Baked Pasta is basically a small version of Lasagna and it becomes even more good when you smother pasta in cheese. SUJI WALE GOL GAPPE

 Luxurious buffet didn't solve the problem, a roadside golgappa did.Street side Gol Gappe is my all time favorite! It is one of the most popular and admired street food of India.  Out of Suji and Aate vaale golgappe,suji vale Golgappe is my favorite!
These mini puris are filled with spicy and sweet flavored water with additional fillings as well which surely taste like heaven.In North India, it is widely called as Golgappa where in Mumbai, Maharasthra, It is called as Pani Puri, and Phulki in South Bihar.The name of this street snack vary from region to region, but the ingredients remain to be almost same.The Gol gappa is made up of flour or the sooji/wheat cream. They are thick in layer, crispy and are large in size so that it could occupy the heavy filling and chutneys.

CHANA DAL CHAWAL KHICHDI

A light meal is always the best meal. Chana Dal Chawal Khichdi has always been my favorite in terms of light and healthy food. I prefer this meal in the breakfast or lunch time.The best thing is that it contains a lot of proteins that is good for health. 
Chana Dal Chawal Khichdi is super easy and quick food to make. When you are tired and don't want to indulge too much time in cooking, Chana Dal Khichdi is always the best option.Chana Dal ki khichdi is made with the combination of rice and chana dal. To make it more spicy and tangy, hari mirch,kali mirch and other Indian spices are added according to the taste buds of people.

Ingredients -
  • 150 grams Chana Dal
  • 200 grams Rice
  • ¼th Cup Coriander leaves
  • 100 grams=2 medium sized Onions (sliced)
  • Cooking Oil
  • ¼th Cup=50 grams whisked Curd
  • Salt
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1½ tbsp Red Chili Powder
  • 10-12 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1½ inches Ginger root
  • ½ tsp Black Peppercorns
  • Cumin Seeds

Recipe-
  1. Soak Chana Dal for 2-3 Hours and soak rice for 20 mins. We will begin with grinding of masala paste.
  2. In a grinder jar, put half quantity of Onions (remaining Onions will be used for Tadka). Add Ginger, Garlic, Green Chilies, PepperCorns. Add water and grind into a fine masala paste.
  3. In a pressure cooker, add 3-4 tbsp Cooking Oil. Allow the Oil to heat up. Add Cumin Seeds and remaining Onions. Fry until Onions become light brown in color.
  4. After 4-5 mins add Turmeric Powder, grounded masala paste and salt. Bhunao the raw masala paste on low-medium heat. Now add red chili powder. 
  5. As Oil begins to ooze out from the masala, add whisked curd.
  6. Put back on heat and cook for 2-3 mins. Add some qauntity coriander leaves and mix. Add Soaked Chana Dal and soaked rice and mix well. Add water .
  7. Add salt to taste, remaining coriander leaves and allow water to boil.
  8. Close the pressure cooker and cook until 2 whistles. After 2 whistles, allow pressure cooker to cool down before opening the lid.

MERI MAGGIE

Maggie always makes me relive those days from my childhood. I remember growing up when mom made such delicious maggie at home. Now also , i love to have Maggie made by my mother because it is made with lots of love .Maggie s something that needs no introduction. It is super easy and quick to make.
Whenever you don't feel like cooking food and you want something quick to eat, Maggie is always the best option. Soupy Maggie has always been my favorite with a little bit of veggies like peas , onions , tomato etc. As i'm a spicy food lover, i always add extra spices to my maggie than the normal one. 


Ingredients-
Maggie noodles packet
1 teaspoon butter
1/4 cup peas
1 tomato
1 green chilli
1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
12 gm maggi masala
1/4 teaspoon powdered black pepper
1/2 onion
1/4 teaspoon powdered turmeric
1/4 tablespoon red chilli powder
1 pinch chaat masala powder
salt as required
2 1/2 cup water


Recipe -
  • 1) Put a deep-bottomed pan over medium flame and add water in it and bring it to a boil. Meanwhile, take a chopping board and finely chop onion, tomato and green chilli on it. Once the water begins to boil, add maggi masala noodles and peas to it and cook till the noodles and peas are soft.
  • 2) Add chopped onion and saute till it changes color. Now, add  tomato and green chilli to it and saute well for a couple of minutes, till the tomatoes are soft.
  • 3)Next, in the sauted vegetables, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder in it and saute for a minute. Now, add the boiled maggi noodles and peas to this masala and mix well and cook for 1 more minute. Once done, transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala over the noodles. Serve it hot to enjoy!
